About RochesterMN Art

"We built this because we kept discovering incredible work by accident — a painting in a brewery, a bronze at a trail bend, a print run in a converted garage. Rochester's art scene deserves a map."

RochesterMN Art is a community-built directory of Rochester, Minnesota's public art, galleries, artist studios, and the businesses that put local work on their walls. Everything on this site — from the trail-side sculptures to the monthly studio openings — is part of the same fabric. We're trying to make that visible.

The project began with the Art4Trails program along the Zumbro River corridor and grew into something more complete: a searchable record of the city's creative institutions, with a companion app for exploring the trail on foot.

Who's behind this

A small volunteer team based in Rochester. We're not affiliated with any institution — just locals who care about the city's art scene and wanted a single place to point friends, visitors, and our own curiosity. The events calendar is hand-curated. The site and the trail app were built quietly, on evenings and weekends, with the goal of being useful first and noticed second.

Get involved

Rochester's art scene is bigger than any one directory can hold. If you know of a gallery, studio, venue, or event we've missed — or if you see information that needs an update — we want to hear from you.

Email us at hello@rochestermnart.org, or use the “Suggest an edit” link on any place page. Submissions go directly to our moderation queue and are usually reviewed within a day.

If you want to contribute more regularly — writing, photography, local knowledge — reach out. We're looking for people who care about this place.
