About this artwork
A 200-foot mosaic pathway embedded in the Broadway sidewalk, telling stories of Rochester's diverse immigrant communities through vivid tile work and inscribed personal narratives. Forty families contributed stories, translated into eight languages.
The Story
Developed over two years with the Rochester Diversity Council, this pathway was installed in phases. Wei conducted 40 recorded interviews with immigrant families; fragments of those testimonials are inscribed in the tile borders. A QR code at each section links to the full audio archive.
